Natalie Enright Jerger awarded $125,000 McLean Award

Natalie Enright Jerger, a professor in the department of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Toronto, is this year's winner of the $125,000 McLean Award.

Funded jointly by the Connaught Fund and the McLean endowment, the award recognizes early-career researchers and supports outstanding basic research in the fields of computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering sciences and the theory and methods of statistics.

Enright Jerger is considered a worldwide expert in on-chip networks, her work contributing to the efficiency and speed of everything from smartwatches to sprawling data centres. She's also a big proponent of teaching and students, and an advocate for greater diversity in engineering fields.

Being able to support more students and build my research group through the award is really fantastic, Enright Jerger says.
